Weekly Roundup: The first week

No "real" blog post yet, but I've been writing down a lot of ideas for future posts that have been swirling around in my head, and started writing on the first one. I'd rather put out only a single full blown blog post each month, than a bunch of throwaway ones.

Last work I got to work with Algolia for the first time. I've heard a lot of good things from people using it in the past, and it really was a blast to use! I was especially surprised by how easy it was to incorperate it into an existing React.js UI. For some use-cases the pricing can quickly become prohibitive, but if you want to build great user-facing search, with little hassle, it's the best solution I know of right now.

Apart from that I got to work a lot with Rust last week, for the first time in a few months. As always I loved it. I also read up most of the major RFCs and developments that happend in last ~9 months (= when I was last actively following Rust). Very excited to try out future-rs soon, even though it looks a bit daunting to use.

I think that was everything for this week. See you soon, blog!
